Volunteers

The African American Literary Festival wouldn’t be possible without the valuable contributions of our dedicated volunteers, and we are grateful for all they do.

These book-loving bunch of people are essential to the Festival’s success. Volunteers typically include high school students, writers, undergraduate and graduate students from institutions of higher education, retirees and even handicapped people.  We rely on volunteers to set up the Festival the night before, help with attendees and participants during the day, and help clean and pack-up at the end of the day.  It’s a 12-hour day jammed-pack with activities and people milling in and out of the Library.

Yes, it’s a lot of work, but it’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people  who have a deep appreciation of  literature. So if you are interested in volunteering, send us an email, specify what you would like to do, and we will send you a confirmation by January 15, 2013.

Thank you for your interest in and commitment to the African American Literary Festival.
